Joelle Hageboutros
Joelle joined War News Radio as a freshman in the fall of 2012. She is a political science and French & Francophone literature double major (and also has an unofficial Islamic studies minor on the side). Joelle’s interests focus on the Middle East and she has written for WNR on recent campaigns in Lebanon to raise awareness about the thousands of civilians who were forcibly abducted during the country’s civil war and on the controversy surrounding Scarlett Johansson’s decision to endorse SodaStream and its implications on the BDS movement and Palestinian workers’ rights. Joelle is also an active member of SPJP (students for peace and justice in Palestine), an occasional op-ed columnist for the Daily Gazette, and a Paper Airplanes English tutor for Syrian refugees.
