There are many images from conflict of service members in combat, flying planes, moving supplies, interacting with civilians, and returning home, but there are very few of their…artwork. The Graffiti of War Project is trying to amend that by collecting the art on tanks, old buildings, and portable toilets and publishing it on their website, and ultimately in a book. The following are some of the project’s powerful images created by service members as well as by civilians in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. To hear an interview with the founder of Graffiti of War, listen to our show this week “The Art of War” or the individual piece “The Graffiti of War” on our website warnewsradio.org.
