After the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan, the military established by the Taliban was dissolved, leaving security in the hands of NATO forces. Nine years later, war-fatigued electorates in America and elsewhere have been clamoring for the withdrawal of troops and resources from Afghanistan. Amandine Lee brings us more on the US military’s attempts to transition the security burden to the fledgling Afghan National Army.
