Tip: “Ducking” with GarageBand

COMMON PROBLEM: To avoid accidental ducking, which could cause fading in some of your audio bites in Garage Band, be sure that none of the downward-pointing blue arrows are highlighted.

If you want to experiment with ducking:

When assembling the show file, you might find it helpful to use the “Ducking” function in GarageBand.

If you click the “up” arrow in the hosting track control panel, and the “down” arrow in the intro/outro music track control panel, the music level should automatically drop when the voicing comes in, and come up again when the hosts stop talking.
